07/18/08PASTOR PENNY’S CORNERBACK TO THE FUTURE I can’t believe I am about to say this . . . But here goes! These lazy days of summer are almost behind us. School begins in just a few weeks! We will still enjoy summer like weather for several more weeks, but the vacations will come to an end, swimming pools will close, parks will empty. All of us, not just the school children, but all of us will leave the Lazy Days of summer behind us. We will all slowly and with grinding gears move out of neutral directly into high gear. It is time to go Back to the Future. A time to go back to not just living for the day, but living for the future. That is what going to school is all about, preparing for the future. As the children go back to school the adults also go back to future living. We start new projects at home and at work. We begin to look forward, even if it is only looking forward to the next holiday. The return of calendars filled with class schedules, sports practices and music lessons often leave little space for Sunday School and worship. I encourage you, no I urge you, to pencil God in. Make room, because you will never find room for God and church in your family’s schedule. Gathering together with family and friends to worship is stepping Back into Your future. God has a plan for you, a plan for a future and a hope. Let us get Back to Future Living. The Journey is Yours, the Journey is Now. Join us soon as we journey together. Melanie Budda and her Team are launching the PowerLab Vacation Bible School, July 21—25th, and it promises to be a blast! All ages from 3 to 99 are welcome to attend. It is a fantastic family and community program. The overall theme is “Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power”. It begins with dinner each day at 5:00 p.m. to be followed by the program at 5:45 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. THANK YOUTo My FCC Church family: Thank you for the gift card and recognition given to me as Choir Director. The past nine years have been my joy and a blessing as I’ve learned and grown musically. My goal was to present music that glorified the Lord and fed the hearts and minds of our church family. I thank the choir members for believing in me, supporting my choices, and singing with a whole heart for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God will provide our needs for the future. With a grateful heart and love, Janelle Ledgerwood :: Next Page >>
